He Must be Sick, He Booked Plane Tickets to San Diego for Our Anniversary

DH, has truly been "Hot Stuff" the last couple of days. He came down with the flu bug that has been going around and has had a sore throat, fever, and cough. Bleh. So, he can't stand "just sitting around all day" so he's done some work from home on the computer and read a little. Near dinnertime last night he came out with a paper in his hands and said, "I have a little homework assignment for you, if that's ok." At the top of the paper was written, "Things To Do In San Diego". He said, "I need you to fill in some things to do in San Diego." So I'm a little slow and thought he meant for a family vacation but he said, "No, I booked us plane tickets and a hotel on the beach for our anniversary." !!!!!!!!! Oh my goodness!! I can't believe it! I've got to get a new swimsuit, and lose the stupid eczema rash on my leg, and maybe another 10 lbs.....!!!!! Yea! I can hardly wait.! :-D

I hope he gets better soon, but maybe he should get a fever more often... (JK)

Going to San Diego... Nah-nah na-nah nah
I have the coolest "Hot Stuff". :-D

What a Beautiful Way to Start the Day

DH and I got up early today for an appointment. When we went outside, the cars were glazed over with ice. The frost patterns on the roof and windshield were so beautiful it was almost a shame to scrape the window and turn on the car. What a great world this is that Nature can create such beautiful art for us on a daily basis. I'm so glad I was able to get some photos of it. Nature's art is beautiful but temporary. One thing is certain, with the constant rotation of days, seasons, and years, the art show never gets boring. It's amazing how a little beauty to start the day can make all the rest of it more pleasant. :-)

Ice on the Windshield – by GoGirl

Nature’s feathered frosting
Has fallen in the night
Glazing glass, graying leaves
Granting morning beauty.
Love it, admire it
Before it melts away.
The warming Dawn
Promises beauties of her own.
Night’s artwork will not linger,
Sunshine droplets will slide
Glinting molten gold to reveal
A new view through the windows.

"I'd Rather Be Reading a Book"

When DH said that to me in a phone call from work, I snorted (how attractive), "Wouldn't we all?" I'm not too sure what he thinks I get to do all day, but in the last week, he's read 4 books and I've read 1. Me, I've been trying to persuade our daughter, Bluejay, that it's worthwhile to actually understand algebra, as compared to just going through the motions (what would I know, I'm just a homeschooling mom, lol). Still, I will admit that my job-as-mom has more variety and drama to it than DH's current task of creating spreadsheets for work (yawn). Though I'm not too sure that creating a dinner menu is lots more entertaining.

DD, Jem, is in the kitchen making pineapple upside-down cake out of boredom (never tasted boredom before, I wonder what flavor it is), but we'll probably have it for Family Home Evening refreshments tonight unless our son, T-rex, who's really in charge of treats tonight, decides otherwise. Dr. Laura is playing on the radio in the back-ground and the kids are laughing when people call in with basic moral questions. They have been raised to live a high moral standard, so they get a little astonished and incredulous sometimes when adults call up asking about "obvious" dilemmas.
